Welcome! Thank you for stopping by Alegría Tequila! Alegría is the Spanish word for Joy – Stoke - Happiness – Fun…and we are ALL about the FIESTA! It is our belief that tequila is a magical beverage and we wish to share it with you! Alegría Tequila is such a new company that at this time the agave, that will eventually become our tequila, is still growing in the fields of Mexico.

Alegria Tequila was founded in the spring of 2009 by the first American individual to complete training and become “Award T” certified by the Tequila Regulatory Council. The Tequila Regulatory Council is a private(funded by all facets of the tequila industry) non-profit founded in the state of Jalisco, Mexico to regulate and promote the authenticity of tequila and it’s appellation of origin. The “Award T” accreditation was created to establish the standards of tequila. Until May 20, 2009, the Tequila Regulatory Council had only certified establishments (bars, restaurants, hotels). While Alegria Tequila has no affiliation with, nor does it speak for, the Tequila Regulatory Council, Alegria Tequila will abide by, and disseminate only the information and standards obtained through training provided by the Tequila Regulatory Council.

As of the summer of 2009, Alegria Tequila can provide the following exclusive services:

• Tequila Consulting – select the tequilas best suited to your tastes and needs
  Available to establishments or private parties wishing to stock an impressive tequila bar
• Tequila Tastings – formal or informal tastings for any number of participants using any number of tequilas
  Learn about the nuances of tequila by a specialist trained by a tequila catador (like a wine sommelier) in the town of Tequila, Mexico
• Fiesta Consulting and Planning – plan a party pairing tequila and tequila drinks (margarita anyone?) with great food
